Branding for 'The Empire Coventry' | Parallel Creative

We were challenged to created a brand identity for a new club in Coventry which will host the best of alternative rock bands, musicians and DJs around. The aim was to put Coventry back on the map when it comes to the nightlife scene. We wanted to create a strong identity that can be used on a wide range of media and also stand the test of time. When developing the Empire’s brand identity, it was vital to keep all of the marketing materials and visual elements consistent as possible. We had fun!

August Font Of The Month - Gotham

Creation and style

The Gotham typeface was initially commissioned by GQ magazine, whose editors wanted to display a sans-serif with a “geometric structure” that would look “masculine, new, and fresh” for their magazine. GQ agreed that they needed something “that was going to be very fresh and very established to have a sort of credible voice to it,” according to Jonathan Hoefler.
